Looking for chic workwear on a budget? This is a list of the best places to buy business casual clothes that are affordable, but also cute.
We all want to look our best at work. Let's be honest. If you look good, you feel good and if you feel good, you are going to perform better.
That's a motto I try to use every time I get dressed in the morning.
Now, it doesn't always happen. In fact, my joke is that I either look red carpet ready or homeless. There's no in-between. (Anyone with me?)
However, looking your best in the workplace will help with confidence and will help line you up as a possible candidate for promotion. They always say to dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
With that being said, keeping up with all of the clothing trends can be expensive. Over the years, I've had to get creative so I can still look like a million bucks without spending a million bucks.
Speaking of saving money, if you download Rakuten, you can save 2-15% on purchases just by purchasing through their site. I do it for every single purchase and it's honestly amazing!
In this post, you'll learn the absolute best stores for buying business casual clothes that don't break the bank, exactly what I buy at each store, and some of my tips/tricks to look my best.
This post is all about where to buy business casual clothes for women on a budget.
1. Amazon
First on my list is Amazon because their clothes have really come up!
Now, you can get pretty much anything on there for an affordable price!
I love to get blazers and blouses on Amazon. They have great quality blazers and their blouses are so chic and easy!
Hot tip: You can dress up any outfit (work or weekend outfits) by just throwing on a blazer. You look so classy and you didn't even have to try!
2. H&M
Next on my list is H&M. Now, I'll admit I actually don't buy anything else at H&M EXCEPT their blazers!!
They have such high-quality blazers, it's amazing!
I would prefer their blazers over anything I've ever seen at any high-priced store.
However, not all blazers are super nice. You have to go into the store to look, touch, and feel, but when you find the ones I'm talking about, BUY THEM IN EVERY COLOR. I promise you.
I get so many compliments every time I wear a H&M blazer. They're only around $35-$55! Plus, I always feel so confident in them!
3. Shein
Of course we need a moment for Shein.
You can literally get ANYTHING on Shein and it's DIRT CHEAP. It's honestly crazy how cheap it is.
What I also like is that you can do easy and free returns. That is crucial!
They have so many great work outfits and pieces. I have bought blouses, a few blazers, headbands, many dresses, and some skirts on Shein!
I'm talking like $7-$14 an item! It's super inexpensive and the quality is often really good for the price. (It can be hit or miss though so get several items and try them on.)
4. Target
Target is typically a great place to get work attire. However, this summer of 2022, I feel like they've missed the ball.
Why are baggy dresses trending right now at Target? No, just no.
TYPICALLY though, you can still find collared button up shirts, which are complete staples for anyone's closet.
You can also find good work heels and comfy flats!
5. Zara
I had never been into a Zara until recently and let me just say, I revamped my work wardrobe!
They had the CUTEST button up collared shirts, sweaters for fall/winter, and even some great work pants!
Oh and i got the most gorgeous blazer! Go take a look! They are SUPER affordable too!
6. Old Navy
Old Navy has some great pieces as well. They are very inexpensive and are great staples to keep for any occasion.
I typically opt for tops and sometimes pencil skirts.
7. Express
Express is definitely one of my favorites when it comes to buying business casual attire. I get all of my work pants at Express and some of my blazers, but only when everything is on 40% off sale.
I NEVER buy anything full price here and no one should.
Everything goes on sale at least 40-60% off so just wait for the sales and stock up!
Their pieces are quality so invest a little bit more to get pieces that will last. The suits and pencil skirts are worth it!
8. Abercrombie
I absolutely have fallen in love with Abercrombie. I know…what am I, a teenager?
However, I promise you they've revamped their entire look in the past couple of years.
They have amazing bodysuits that I like to pair with work pants or skirts and then throw a blazer on top.
I look so put together and I barely tried. Trust me, Abercrombie has become a great place for clothes. Plus, you can wear those bodysuits out after work for a sexy look.
Also, you'll want to wait for sales here too!
9. Macy's
Macy's can be super inexpensive if you wait for the sales.
They have designer brands and make every kind of work wear imaginable.
I typically get work dresses from Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren for $50. Use a site like Rakuten to save even more money!
10. Nordstrom
Nordstrom can be very expensive, but hear me out.
I recommend Nordstrom for workwear because you are investing in QUALITY pieces. They have sales so watch for those as well.
Either way, when you buy quality, it will last you forever and you will feel like a million bucks.
Always buy quality over quantity when it comes to suits.
11. Nordstrom Rack
Of course the Rack is on my list as you can get INSANE deals at Nordstrom Rack.
I'm not joking.
You can pick up any type of workwear imaginable and the prices are amazing!
I often find things currently sold at Nordstrom for full price being sold at Nordstrom Rack for 60% off. It's unreal.
Shop online or in the store and stock up on the best business casual pieces.
Best Business Casual Clothing Stores
I hope this was helpful! Like I said, these stores are all amazing for different reasons.
Don't spend a fortune on your work wardrobe.
Find things you like that you can wear on the weekend and piece them together with blazers and work pants.
